How we vet every business
Vetted means current license where required (checked with Florida DBPR), active liability insurance, and a Google rating of 4.5 or higher.
current license where required (checked with Florida DBPR)
Passes when: The license is current. A category that needs no state license is marked "not required for this category", with the reason.Source: Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) license records.
active liability insurance
Passes when: The policy hasn't expired, and a copy of the insurance document is on file.Source: The business's insurance document.
a Google rating of 4.5 or higher
Passes when: 4.5 or higher, with at least 10 reviews.Source: The business's Google reviews. We enter the rating and review count by hand.
Re-checked before every mailing
A business can go on a card only when all three checks pass and each is under 90 days old. Every business is re-checked before every mailing, and its page shows the date each check was last verified.
Ads are paid; approval isn't
Businesses pay to advertise, but they can't pay to get in. Every business must pass vetting first, and is re-checked before every mailing.
