Privacy policy
What Florida's Choice collects when you use this site, who receives it and how long we keep it.
Florida's Choice is run by TODO(jason): legal entity name, Clermont, FL 34715.
What we collect
- When you request a quote: your name, phone number, ZIP code, what you need and how you'd like to be contacted, plus your email address and a note if you add them. With the kitchen visualizer, also your kitchen photos and the style you picked. Photos are resized in your browser before they upload, which also removes the location data a photo can carry.
- When you scan a QR code or visit a business's page: the page, the time, which card and code brought you (if any), your device type, your browser's user-agent string (your browser and operating system with their versions, and on some phones the device model), the page that linked you, and a hashed form of your IP address.
- When you tap a business's call button: that the button was tapped, with the same details as a page visit: the time, which card and code brought you (if any), your device type, your browser's user-agent string, the page that linked you, and a hashed form of your IP address. We don't record or listen to the call.
- When you report a problem: your message and, if you give them, your name, email address and phone number.
- When a business applies to advertise: the business and contact details on its application.
- When you ask Marketing Solutions about a service: your name, your phone number or email address (or both), and, if you give them, your business name, the services you picked, your budget range, your timeline and your message. We keep them to follow up with you, and Florida's Choice staff get them by email and text message.
Hashed IP addresses
We never store your IP address. With each scan, visit, call tap and form you send, we store only a hash of it: the address combined with a secret value and run through SHA-256, a one-way function, so the stored value can't be turned back into your address.
We use the hash to count unique scans (the same device scanning the same code within 24 hours counts once) and to limit spam (for example, at most 5 quote requests an hour from one address).
Who receives your information
- The business you chose. Your quote request goes to the one business you sent it to, by text message and email, so it can contact you. We don't send it to any other business, and we don't sell it.
- Florida's Choice staff, to run the service, to step in when a request can't be delivered, and to answer Marketing Solutions inquiries.
- The business's results report lists each request by date, first name and status only, never your phone number or email address.
- Companies that run parts of the site for us: Cloudflare (hosting, database, file storage and the security check on our forms), Twilio (text messages) and Resend (email).
Text messages
We text you only if you tick the box on the quote form, which is never pre-ticked: at most one confirmation per request. We save the wording you agreed to with your request. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. We don't share your phone number or your consent with anyone for their marketing. The details are in our SMS terms.
Cookies
When you arrive from a QR code on the card, one cookie remembers that for 30 days, so a request you send later still counts for that card. The security check on our forms, Cloudflare Turnstile, checks that a person and not a bot is sending the form.
We count visits to our pages with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies. It sees the page, the page that linked you, your browser and device type and your country, and shows us only totals, not a record of each visitor.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests, problem reports, business applications, Marketing Solutions inquiries and scan, visit and call tap records are kept with no set end date, so businesses' reports and our records stay complete.
- Kitchen photos that were never sent with a request are deleted within two days. The links to photos in a business's email stop working after 7 days.
- If you reply STOP, we keep your phone number on our opt-out list, so we never text it again unless you reply START.
Your choices
You don't have to give an email address or agree to texts to send a request. Reply STOP to any text from us to stop them. For questions about the information we hold about you, contact us below.
